How I Coach

Every player is unique, and so is my approach. Here's what you can expect when you train with me.

  1. Personal Goal Setting

Every player is different. We'll start by discussing what you want to achieve, then create a plan to get you there.

  2. Breaking Down Fundamentals

I break complex techniques into simple, easy-to-understand steps. Proper grips, footwork, swing mechanics, and positioning become second nature.

  3. Custom Drills

From advanced footwork, to swings and follow-throughs, we’ll tailor to your form.

  4. Match Strategy

Learn when to be aggressive, how to construct points, and the tactical decisions that win matches. You'll develop tennis IQ alongside your strokes.

  5. Have fun!

This is what matters most. I want you to enjoy every moment on the court, whether you're learning your first forehand or perfecting your serve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about TopspinCoach

Do you offer tennis lessons for beginners?

Absolutely! I love working with beginners. Whether you've never picked up a racquet before or you're just getting back into tennis, I'll meet you where you are. We'll start with the fundamentals—how to hold the racquet, basic footwork, and your first strokes—and build from there at your own pace. No pressure, just progress.

What should I bring to my tennis lesson?

Here's what you'll need:

  • Tennis shoes (court shoes with non-marking soles, not running shoes)
  • A water bottle to stay hydrated
  • A towel and sunblock for outdoor sessions
  • Your tennis racquet (don't have one yet? I can help you figure out what you need)
  • Comfortable clothes you can move in
What size tennis racquet should I get?

This depends on age and height. Here's a quick guide:

  • 19 inch racket for ages 3 and under
  • 21 inch racket for ages 3 to 4
  • 23 inch racket for ages 5 to 6
  • 25 inch racket for ages 7 to 8
  • 26 inch racket for ages 9 to 10
  • 27 inch racket for ages 11+ and adults

Not sure what size you need? No worries. I can help you figure it out at your first lesson.

What happens if it rains during my lesson?

Unfortunately, I can't control the weather! If it starts raining or the court gets too wet to play safely, we'll have to stop. But don't worry. I'll work with you to reschedule for another day at no charge. Your safety comes first, and we'll get you back on the court as soon as conditions are good.

Can I cancel or reschedule my lesson?

Life happens, I get it! Just give me at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, and we'll find another time that works for you. No charge, no penalty. I just ask for that heads up so I can potentially fill the slot or adjust my schedule.

Do you teach kids and adults?

Yes, I teach players of all ages! I work with kids starting at age 3, teens looking to improve their game, and adults at any skill level. Whether you're picking up a racquet for the first time or returning to tennis after years away, I'll customize my coaching to your goals and fitness level.

How do I book my first tennis lesson?

Easy! Just shoot me a message and we'll get you scheduled. We'll chat about your goals, your experience level, and find a time that works for you. I'll answer any questions you have, and we'll get you on the court soon!

What type of payments do you accept?

Cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Pay are due on the day you meet for the lesson.
